Full-circle food systems (FCFS) is not a rigid, technical term, but is more of a philosophical approach to food. By FCFS, we mean simply food systems that support, sustain, and nourish communities by helping connect people directly to their food sources and by helping farmers connect directly to the people they feed.

But FCS is more than this too. A full-circle food system is one that promotes transparency, supports sustainable life-cycle production, and encourages collaboration for creative problem solving.
